Registration

Player and volunteer registrations open at the beginning of December for the following season, and remain open until the age group team is full. Our Club highly recommends registering as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. The registration opening date is announced via social media.

Registration Fee
Players insurance, game day fees, referee fees and presentation day celebrations are included in the registration fees.

Training

Our Club will advise via social media of a “meet and greet” with Coaches for each age group prior to the season.The training schedule dates and times will also be communicated with each group prior to the season.

Teams & Grading

All players begin pre-season training in each age group as a squad.

Players in the mini age groups (U5 – U9) will then be allocated to their teams.

Players in the mod age groups (U10 – U12) begin grading during the pre-season training and is ongoing through the trial games. These mod age groups play non-competition games.

Players in the international age groups (U13 – U18) begin grading during the pre-season training and is ongoing through the trial games and up to round 3. These international age groups play competition games.

Careful consideration is given when assigning players to teams. Our Club approaches grading holistically to align with our coaching philosophies. Players, parents / carers are notified via the Coach / Team Manager of their players team.

Season Start

Our Club participates in two club trial games prior to the season.Details of the trials will be notified by the Coach / Team Manager, and via social media. Round 1 of the competition typically commences in April. Details of the season will be notified by the Coach / Team Manager,and via social media.

Game Draw & Time

The competition draw is provided at the start of the season; however, it is subject to change and is published through the PlayRugby League website and through the My League App.Team Managers will also keep you updated on changes and finalised times by Thursday of each week.

Mouthguards

Mouthguards are compulsory for all players during games, our Club also recommends mouthguards at training.

Head Gear & Shoulder Pads

Our Club highly recommends and encourages players to wear head gear and shoulder pads during games and at training.

Club Polo, Game Shorts and Game Socks

All new players to our Club are provided a Club Polo, Game Shorts and Game Socks prior to Round 1 of the competition.All existing players are provided a Club Polo, Game Shorts and Game Socks every three years prior to Round 1 of the competition.Our Club will advise via social media of clothing allocations nights prior to the season trial games.

Playing Jersey

Club playing Jerseys are provided on game day. Team Managers will collect all jerseys at the end of the game. Parents / carers may be required to launder the team’s jerseys ready for your players’ team prior the next game.

Medical Conditions

Our Club requests all parents / carers consult with Coaches / Team Managers to advise if players have any existing medical conditions. Our Club has several First Aid Officer’s at our home ground in the event of an injury / medical incident.

Cancelled or Forfeited Game

Our Club will advise via social media of any game changes due to weather at our home ground.Each team has a group chat for Coaches / Team Managers to communication all changes to games.

Club Merchandise, Training Gear & Additional Game Day Clothing

Club Merchandise, Training Gear and additional game day clothing may be purchased via the link provided on the Club’s website or via social media. Periodically, our Club holds merchandise and game day clothing sale nights, this is also advertised via social media.

Game Day Involvement

Each team is allocated a role to play at home games. It may be field set up / pack down, canteen assistant or groundmanager. All parents / carers are required to share the schedule throughout the season, and roles are allocated with team game times in mind, your Team Manager will communicate the roles required.

Team Involvement

Our club encourages parents / carers to join their player’s team support staff. The available roles include Coach, Team Manager, League Safe, First Aid Officer and Sports Trainer.

Training Involvement

Coaches really appreciate parents / carers being involved during training. This allows for players to have more individualised coaching, and helps to improve overall team skill development.

Club Involvement

From the moment of registration, Cessnock Minor Rugby League Club becomes YOUR Club. Our Club encourages parents / carers to be involved, and your involvement has many positive benefits for your player.

Committee Involvement

Join the Club committee! Our Club encourages anyone who would like to come along to our monthly Club meetings to join an amazing group of welcoming and passionate committee members. No previous rugby league experience is required, and all skills and input are greatly appreciated!
